I work in nursing home, I keep track of how many steps I walk on a pedometer, today I cam home and it said, 11,198 steps. I’m just wondering how many calories I burned– walking at a moderate pace average. I am 5′6 and I weigh 151.4lbs.
I will be working alternating day and night shifts, 12 hours (7-7). I have heard that it is as bad for you as smoking 20 fags a day (yuk). Can anyone offer me tips on how to stay healthy, and any advice on exercise and diet? I woud appreciate htis, as I would like to keep going naturally rather than rely on Red Bull or something equally awful!
I work in a huge datacenter, so I’m walking all day, according to my pedometer its b/w 10-15 miles a day in an 8 hour shift. I’ve already dropped 10 lbs just from this, but I’d like to shave off a few more. I’m not a big guy (5′9″ 195) I was wondering if wearing a weighted vest or leg weights would be effective in any manner? I’d like to take advantage of the work I have to do and turn it into something beneficial to my health.
thanks
Each step you take creates a vibration that is counted on the pedometer as a ’step’. The force of the step makes the counter move on one point. An adult should try and take at least 10,000 steps per day – approximately 3 miles. You will need to calibrate the pedometer (if it allows you) to count the correct number of your steps to the mile, but generally it is around 3,000. Some pedometers also check calorie usage. Enjoy!
Hello,
I am beginning an experiment in which I will test which type of exercising improves lung efficiency better.
Running alone or doing a combination of running and working out?
I was wondering what factors I should take into consideration and what results I should end up yielding.
Any help is appreciated,
