Hi there, I am 22 and have smoked since I was 16 (it isn’t something I am proud of). I quit a week ago and am doing well, no cravings as yet.
I’d like to start getting fit, as I’ve applied to join the British Army. After a week I am already noticing subtle differences in my health, such as my senses of taste and smell returning!
What I want to know is, is it safe for me to start seriously exercising after a week, or am I wise to leave it longer in order for my body to repair itself further, without over-stretching it?

I’m 16 and i have hardly any body fat, i’m not active but i really! want to be, i have just finished school and i want to do something in my spair time before I go to college and i was thinking that exercise was the best thing to do as it would make me healthier and more awake. While i was at school, i used to go on a 30min walk to and from school, 30 mins there and 30mins back, but now i dont go to school i dont have that possibility and i found anyway that walking did not change my body’s health or shape. I do not want to go to a Gym and i have no equiptment at home, i was just looking for things like types of sit ups and house exercise that i could do daily. A regime would be perfect though because if i have it in front of me and if it tells me what to do i will most likely do it.
Basically i want something that will help me with my health and looks (all teens wanna look good right?) that i can do while at home and will help me out.

I recently began exercising in order to improve my health and to lose weight (80 lbs.) Thus far I have focused solely on cardio (e.g., treadmill, elliptical machines, etc.). I plan to eventually add weight training to my regime, but I am unsure when. Is it best to wait until I lose some weight to begin weight training or would it be in my best interest to start now?
