Okay,
I am 17 years old (male) and I have never really worked out seriously or committed to it. I am about 6′2″ and weigh 180 pounds. But now I want to get my body into better shape and I am serious about it. I am not fat or anything but would like to get rid of some belly fat. What workout program do you guys follow? I would like to know your workout program for push ups, sit ups, etc. All the muscle building exercises that require body movement and enhance flexibility. I hope to build my muscles and then move on to weight lifting. I do bike riding as a cardiovascular exercise and play basketball whenever I can. My diet is well and I try to stay away from the sugary sodas, junk food, etc. I would like a clear workout program that best suits you guys. Also, how often should I work out? How much is too much? My doctor said I am in good health to exercise and I do not have any medical disabilities. Any tips or suggestions will be great. Thanks
I don’t wear/hate wearing a watch, and I only have a tiny one with a face on it so it’s near impossible to know when I’ve ran for a minute and it’s time to switch to walking again. Is there some sort of a gadget that would beep for me? Like, that I could set to beep in 1.5 minutes and then in .5 minutes and then in 1.5 minutes again? Or how do people do this sort of thing? I don’t want to have to look down at a watch all the time. I wear a pedometer, and that helps me keep track of things a little. I don’t want to be limited to running on a tredmill because I don’t have access to it on weekends.
Let’s get all our stuff together on saturday, a book that lists calories, carbohydrates, and protein. Let’s start by eating very light, and exercising a minimum of 4 times a week. Or at least 5 long walks a week. Drink green tea in the morning, and filtered water the rest of the day.
Is anyone out there game? Let’s do it to it!
Add some other good advice, please.
I just purchased a gym membership and will start next week. I am overweight, age 47 and not in shape at all. I need to exercise for health reasons (diabetes) and weight loss. What is a good program to start with? The gym has aqua exercise, a senior exercise program, weight training, cycling, circuit training and a step class with weights. Or I could do non-group activities when it’s open gym. I don’t want to embarass myself by not keeping up with a group so I need to find an appropriate program to start with so I don’t quit.
