I recently downloaded the “My Health Coach: Manage Your Weight” DS rom onto my R4. It says I need to record my daily steps using a pedometer – which is only available if you buy the actual hardcopy game.
I can’t move on to the next stage unless I have a pedometer to record my steps.
Is there any way to play the game or record my steps without using a pedometer?
(And please don’t tell me to just buy the game – they don’t sell it yet where I’m from)

I would like to buy a reliable pedometer to help me calculate my 10,000 steps. Can anyone suggest one that tracks steps reliably. I have just bought a Rosemary Conley one and it is so far out its unbelieveable.
Also I have a treadmill. It isn’t motorised, so basically, if you do not make it move, it doesn’t go. If I choose to do 20 minutes, it is better to do the 20 minues in one go or does it make no difference if 1 do 2 x 10 minute sessions.
I need to lose weight and get healthier and I do not have the option of walking outside.

Maybe mine is not working all of the time, but I clipped it onto the waist of my pants, went for a mile long walk, then went to the gym and ran on the treadmill for a half hour, and when I checked the pedometer I was only at 5000 steps!?!? I’d have to run all day to get to 10,000. And every day? That seems so high. Has anyone else tried this? How much walking/jogging did it take for you to reach 10,000 steps? 2 hours?

My daily exercise includes around 30-40mins vigorous jogging on the spot. These are the questions I would like answered:
Should a pedometer be used for such an exercise?
What counts as a step? If in a given amount of time my right foot hits the floor 10times how many steps have I done? This is mainly to check the calibration of the pedometer
Also what is the average amount of calories that are burnt in 10 minutes? I am 53kg and 1.73m height. On average the pedometer marks 27cal per 10 minutes which do seem a bit low :s
Thanks to all those who try to help me
