I’ve noticed the older I get, whenever I get sick it seems like I feel “sicker” than I did like when I was a teenage dealing w/flu or virus. [well, ..... I am not sure, remember having bad viruses back then from time2time as well. as my stomach was weaker back then, so maybe I HAVE improved]
But anyways, concerned about my teeth. I am getting a lot older now ‘in some ppl’s eyes I guess] I’m going to be 43.
I’m concerned about my health esp. 20 yrs. from now and want to get the ball rolling on optimum health!!
Usually I walk 3-4 miles 3-4X per week during warmer months.
And started taking vitamins again regularly.
What else can one do to maintain overall GREAT health?
And how IN THE WORLD do those 90-100 yr. olds out there deal w/flus??? If you feel so rotten a lot younger when dealing w/a virus [I have one now :o ( ] just wondering how those poor lil’ older ppl hold up going thru that!?
back to original question :o )

I eat fairly healthy (I am a poor college student so my options are limited). I don’t drink soda and try to get as balanced a diet as possible. Most of my meals consist of a lot of vegetables, rice, baked chicken, or pasta.
This is my regular weekly routine:
Sunday: 1.5 hours of two-hand touch football
Monday: 45 min cycling class (resistance hills and sprints)
Tuesday: 1 hour pilates class
Wednesday: 45 min cycling class
Thursday: 1 hour pilates class
Saturday: 30 min jog
It is hard to fit in too much time at the gym, so I have opted for group exercise classes to avoid the confusing machines. If there is anything that I am missing, should include, or should change let me know!

I know that both are important, of course. But, in your opinion, which is more fundamental/necessary in order to maintain overall health and physique?
I personally would side with exercise, as it can raise metabolic rates, decrease hunger, and put you more in the mind set of eating healthy as well.

1. Moderate exercise, at least 1/2 hour each day. Walking is very good.
2. A diet low in fats, especially saturated fats. Stay to 10 Calories per pound you want to weigh (120 lbs = 1200 Calories.)
3. Take a full spectrum multivitamin and mineral supplement. I take Vemma.
4. Study religion. Faith in God helps to relieve us of our worries.

Just had bunion surgery (metatarsal fusion), and while I can carefully walk on my foot, I don’t want to put weight on it. Standing exercises of any kind won’t work.
Where can I find workouts for me? I have small weights. (I’m 4′11″, middle-aged, 115 lbs, not very toned but willing to put in the effort).
