What is your opinion about taking “baby” steps in weight loss by moving forward with one goal each week.
Week 1-Replace soda with water
Week 2-Walk around the block once each day
Week 3-Increase veggie intake
Week 4-Wear pedometer and start tracking steps
Week 5-Cut portions for one meal in half.
Week 6- Jog slowly around block each day.
Those are not exact steps, but the point is that each week something different to help improve health and promote weight loss will be added. Is this a good idea, or is a set-up to failure?

I know for a fact I’m burning more calories than I take in everyday.
Basal metabolic rate: 235 lbs = about -2200 calories
Physical demanding job: I wear a pedometer and average 15,000 step burning at least -1000 calories
Workout on elliptical for 500 calories or more every day
2200 -BMR
1000 -Work
500- Workout
Total daily burn is at least 3,700 calories
I eat between 1,500 and 2,500 calories everyday even when I cheat I know I not eating over 3,700 and when I eat something I shouldn’t be eating I put in some extra workout time.
I know I should have around a 1000 calorie deficit everyday which means I should drop around 2 pounds a week.
My problem is I lose nothing. Why?
I’ve almost come to the conclusion that I’m may have a thyroid problem that would somewhat make since of the 60 lb weight gain in less than a year. I’m not really willing to just accept that.

I take ballet lessons and contemporary dance. I’m also a cheerleader, volleyball player during winter and participate in a lot of other activities.
It seems that i should have no problem losing weight. I appear thin to anyone else but in the dance world that’s not the case. I’m 5′7 almost 5′8 and i need to loose about 15 lbs.
Any ideas on how i can loose weight (with exercises certain diets?).
Thanks so much!

Hello,
If you are on a exercise regimen and your primary goal is to loose weight, are protein shakes good ? or is it that if you take protein shake one would put on more weight ? protein shakes – any specific brand available in India ? are they good for the body in general ? will it cause any problem to the body (like kidney has to process more, etc)
Your answers are appreciated. After a workout of an hour and half I feel very exhausted and I want to replenish by taking such shakes – Please help me.

I am 5′2 and 13 stone. I have a trampette at home but not sure how long to exercise each day to see a fast weight loss and should I jog on the spot or jump to get the best results. I am a vegetarian and eat quite health. Any suggestions?
