Hi, I only have a few pounds to lose I am not heavy or anything just would like to lose few and I have been walking a lot lately, I bought a pedometer and walk 10 thousand steps at least each day been doing this for a week steadily, I also have been doing abdominal exercises and some leg. I have been watching what I eat and not overly indulging. Last night I weighed myself I weighed 120 and this morning I weigh 124 whats up with that, I could just cry, is my scale messed up or is it me, whats going on? HELP
I’m 5′ 4 and 188 (I know) and trying unsucessfully to lose weight. My only thought is that I’m misunderstanding something. I’m wondering how to figure out how many calories I need to function then how many less I need to actually lose weight. I work out at least 3 times a week and judging by my pedometer I burn at least 500 -1000calories/day. I eat between 1200-1500 calories a day and have been doing this along w/taking ALLI and have still not lost any weight. I’ve never had this difficult of a time losing weight and I’ve been following this diet (minus the ALLI which I just started a week ago) for more than a month….any suggestions are appreciated. I’m tired of whining about this, but i’m super confused! I know the whole 3500 cal/lb of fat, I’m just wondering if I sit all day how many calories are burned vs working out…
Eugenia wants to find out how fast she walked along the hiking trail that took her 1.5 h to complete. She counted the number of steps with a pedometer and got 10000 steps. In order to calculate the distance she walked she estimated the length of her stride. She walked 10 steps three times at her usual rate and measured the distance with the measuring tape (the smallest division is 1 cm) and got 754cm, 748cm, 739cm.
Find the length of her stride.
*What is the length of the hiking trail?
*What are absolute and relative uncertainties in that length?
*What is the absolute uncertainty in Eugenia’s time measurement?
*What is its relative uncertainty?
*Are these instrumental or random uncertainties?
