When I take a step with my new pedometer (Omron Pro II) it always records 2 steps, e.g. my feet touch the ground five times, and it says 10 steps).
Why does it do this? Is that how they work, or is there something wrong with it? (It does it whether in my pocket, hand, on my belt etc)
I have been looking up pedometers online and on sites like target it says “ideal for walking.” Would it count my steps as I run? Would it be the precise steps I ran ? Or are they different? Best answer gets 10 pts

I want some Pedometer-like machine that can count the amount of calories I’ve eaten and burned during a period of time. Does such a thing exist? If so, where can I find it?
Thanks
I wore my heart rate monitor and separate pedometer while doing a very hard 3.5 hike/trail run and the readings for calories burned are coming up drastically different. Heart monitor says 900 and pedometer says 300. I entered all the information into both – age, weight, female. Am I doing something wrong?
