I am 16, 5 10 and 180 pounds. And i exercise moderately (Over weight)
I have been eating health and exercising for months( i don’t remember how many). I have lost 20 pounds to get to 180. However, now that i am aware of what i eat, i have cut many unhealthy foods from my life and i feel that my body just doesn’t need as much to be full. I am now concerned about my caloric intake because i don’t meet it and i really don’t want to push more food in my body when i feel i don’t need it. Please give me good advice, i don’t need websites to find out my required intake. I would be really nice if a experienced person answers this question. So do i really have to meet the requirment and i don’t want to screw up my metabolism.
1. am i right in thinking that when trying to lose weight, you must eat 1200 calories, in order to stop the body going into starvation which hinders weight loss? Yesterday, i eat about 800 but i didnt feel starving, a bit peckish at times perhaps, but wouldn’t that mean that my body WAS getting what it needed? I’d like to go from a uk size 14 to 10 by Xmas Day and if i can do this by really cutting down on calories and perhaps feeling hungry, but not let myself get to the starving point, then would this work?
2. if i eat a salad which had 100 calories and eat it twelve times in a day or i eat two pasta dishes with cheese which were say, 600 calories, in both cases it comes to 1200 calorries but would the weight / fat loss be any different between the two?
3. if you must burn more calories than you consume in order to lose weight, isn’t that incredibly difficult to do, bearing in mind that i did the NHS reccommnended 10,000 steps (as i walk around the shop floor at work quite a bit) and according to the pedometer that only burnt 472ish calories which would leave another 728 calories to burn just to arrrive at zero let alone burn enough to get to negative calories in order to drop weight.
sorry this is long but i find this all a bit confusing…
any extra advice or information would be appreciated
I walk, workout everyday, and bike everyother day. I have a pedometer, and I have a counter on my bike too. Is there something I can get that will count the calories I burn all day, instead of just when I am walking or biking. I want something that will count them when I am working out of just watching tv. People have told me to get a heart rate monitor, but if you wear it 24/7, the batteries die very fast. I wanted to get a Polar F6, but you have to send them in to replace the batteries. Is there any device out there that would work. Thanks.
I have been using a pedometer for walks recently. On average on a 30 minute walk I take 4200 steps. I am just wondering what sort of calorie burn this is? I am trying to lose weight and am working in physical activity wherever I am since I have a hectic schedule every week. I currrently go to hot yoga 2 times per week and then walk as often as I can, usually at least one night per week going for a walk. I also walk to and from my yoga class. I am a teacher and am on my feet for the better part of the day. Everything I find online seems to be different and i am just looking for some feeback and help!
Ok i went walking i walked with my pedometer and i walked 2,27 miles and it said i burned 184kcal
what does that mean?
