I’m 38 and in pretty good shape for my age, but I want to be in supershape. I know that you’re supposed to break into CV workouts light, then increase with time. So just what kind of exercises should I start with, how long should I work out, how hard should I work, and when should I step up the intensity?

any hints, helpful advice, on how i can lose 50 lbs by april? i am on a very low calorie diet (1200 calories a day) and it just seems like it isn’t coming off as quickly as i had hoped. i only drink water, eat healthy food such as grilled chicken/fish and nothing with more than 30% calories from fat. i do walk every day for about 30 minutes pushing my daughter in the stroller (not easy to go to the gym, i live on a military base, don’t really know anyone and all my family is 700+ miles away…. so working out is pretty difficult, only able to do so WITH my daughter who is only a few months old). is it true or good advice that i get a pedometer and try to get 10,000 steps a day? would that help me reach my goal? thanks everyone.

Im 13st 2lbs. 23. male. Body fat at the moment is 16.8%. Also if you went into a filling station what can you buy that isnt stuffed with carbs? Also how do you put the buzz back into exercising? thanks

I just purchased a gym membership and will start next week. I am overweight, age 47 and not in shape at all. I need to exercise for health reasons (diabetes) and weight loss. What is a good program to start with? The gym has aqua exercise, a senior exercise program, weight training, cycling, circuit training and a step class with weights. Or I could do non-group activities when it’s open gym. I don’t want to embarass myself by not keeping up with a group so I need to find an appropriate program to start with so I don’t quit.
