hey, my names Tiffany and I want to lose 10 lbs.
I don’t have a exact date of when I want to have the 10 lbs off, yet.
That’s why I came to yahoo to get answers from other peoples point of view. I guess i’ll start with telling you how much I weigh. Currently I weigh 125 pounds I am 5′4′.
I want to lose 10 lbs for me, not for anyone else except me so that I can have a good looking body. I know that I’m at a normal weight for my age group but I’d love just to go down 10 lbs to tone my body and not have the flabby type of stomach anymore, I just wanna look good in a t-shirt and have the confidence to wear one.
I want to just ask a few questions and if you have any good advice or health tips/exercise tips then please post them!
Here are my questions:
-What type of exercises should I do? (instead of going to a gym)
-What are good foods that can help me reach this goal?
-What would be good to help me keep track of my weight loss?
Thanks for everybody that’s answering my questions :)

Today I went to funeral because a middle aged man 55 years old who died of a heart attack on saturday. He was healthy, strong, fit and still quite young. He went out for a walk last weekend when he had a massive heart attack. It killed him instantly. It was shocking to everyone. He was a very prominent and well-respected man person in the community.
Today at his funeral I was sitting in my car and I saw an elderly man(around 70) who was standing outside the church having a smoke break. He was overweight, old, looked unhealthy—yet he was alive. I guess he has smoked most of his life.
What I couldnt figure out was how come he had bad habits, in “ok” health, never exercises, and he gets to live? While the younger man exercises, eats right, has good habits, and he dies young? Is it in our genes or DNA at what time we will die?
Maybe if that younger man was a smoker and didnt take care of his health he would have died a lot of sooner. Maybe 40? Maybe his diet, exercise, and good habits kept him alive until 55? And suppose that old man who was smoking could live to be 100…but now that he has been a life long smoker and takes poor care of his health he may only live to be 80? Still a long life according to the lifespan.
Do we all have a set-point death date predetermined at birth? Is it in our genes to let us know how long we wil live? DNA? Can we alter our genes through diet and exercise to help us live longer?
Sometimes I think it is pointless to take care of myself and just live my life and eat the foods I enjoy(even junk). I can die anytime because nobody is immune to death.
As George Carlin said…”eat right, exercise, die anyway.”
What does everyone think? Are we predetermined to die at a certain date despite how well we take care of ourselves? Or can we alter our death date and live longer through diet and exercise?
***NOTE–THIS DOES NOT APPLY TO FREAK ACCIDENTS LIKE CAR CRASHES OR GETTING RUN OVER BY A CAR. This is strictly a biological question.

A pedometer does it really work? Like if I walk 12,000 steps a day will I lose weight? Or what? Will I lose any weight walking 10,000 steps a day? I bought one last night (: I’m trying to lose 19 pounds, the healthy way so within about 5 months. I also am working out, I am out of shape so I’m starting slow, like 4 sets of 10 reps of push ups, sit ups, lunges, squats.. and then doing like dance for 15 minutes then setting goals like for 1 more set, or 10 more minutes. Eating every 2-3 hours, no fat, sugar, soda, candy. Calorie counting. Does that sound like a good enough plan?

is there any way bathroom scales and a pedometer(think that’s right) without my parents knowing?
Is there any were in or around woodbridge were i can get them cheap?
