I am 24 years old, no kids, no husband, living with roommates. I have a job that is very demanding and I never know whether I will have a late-night event to run or a weekend committment because of my work.
Earlier this year I had an unexpected medical emergency that made me unable to work out for a while. After that subsided, my work became very, very busy and it will not tone down until after November.
I bought a pedometer yesterday and I try to eat healthy. But I’ve gained about 30 lbs and can’t seem to lose them. I’ve lost weight once before, when I had a not-as-busy job and less responsibilities. I know what to do, just not how to do it in light of my different lifestyle now.
What small things have you incorporated into your lifestyle to make it healthier, and to lose weight?

i work out during my lunch hour.
also invested in a stationary bike for late night cardio or early morning cardio.
plan your food intake on sunday and prepare your food for the week then too!
buy a little fridge for your office to store your food/shakes.
it can be done. it just takes planning!
good luck
Wear your pedometer at work and see how many steps you are taking. Medical people usually recommend 10,000 steps a day. See if you are getting that in. I have to imagine if work is so busy you are doing a lot of walking around during the day. You could also invest in a stationary bike or treadmill and try to get in exercise in the early morning.
i love to go running in the mornings. just get up half an hour earlier than you usually do, knock out a couple of miles. it’s nice, with the sun not quite up yet, the air nice and chilly, and hardly anyone else out yet. you may not feel like doing it the first few times, but you’ll learn to love it- you’ll have more energy and feel awesome all morning.
No one is that busy because most of us watch lots of television and kill time on the computer. I suspect the busy stuff just sounds good. You have 17 waking hours a day. If you really want to exercise you will find the time.
