I’ve gotten in the habit of not eating meat everyday. I look at meat and its not pleasing to my stomach anymore.I just want to know what are the great rewards to follow in my lifestyle, health, exercise and sex life on becoming a vegetarian.

It may be a better idea to take it a little slower. Become a semi-vegetarian first (no beef or pork) then eventually cut out fish and chicken. At the same time get used to different dishes.. such as substituting beef for spinach in your lasagna, or mushrooms and olives on your pizza instead of pepperoni and sausage.
Make sure to eat plenty of nuts, seeds, and legumes to get protein. Mushrooms are good for this too.
Just take it slow. and good luck.
peace,
bman.
Yes, you can stop eating meat “cold turkey.” I went vegetarian overnight with no problems. There’s no need to make a gradual transition, although many people find it easier to go vegetarian gradually.
The American Dietetic Association states that vegetarians have “lower rates of death from ischemic heart disease; … lower blood cholesterol levels, lower blood pressure, and lower rates of hypertension, type 2 diabetes, and prostate and colon cancer” and that vegetarians are less likely than meat-eaters to be obese. Research has found that vegetarians are 50% less likely to get heart disease, and they have 40% of the cancer rate of meat-eaters.
The answerer who said you need to take supplements is misinformed. You can get all of the vitamins and nutrients you need by eating a normal variety of fruits, vegetables, beans, nuts, and grains. Good luck!
I did it very gradually, but if I had it to do over, I’d just stop eating animals and animal products “cold turkey.” I would have felt a lot better a lot quicker if I had. The health benefits are for real, and I feel them! And in spite of what some may say, you don’t need mega-vitamins to stay alive as a vegetarian or vegan, eat a variety of vegetables and protein from vegetable sources and you’ll be perfectly healthy. I do take a calcium/magnesium/vitamin D supplement, but I’d take that even if I wasn’t a vegan.
The rewards that come to mind quickly are — you don’t have dead animal flesh rotting in your colon. You feel better about yourself, the world and your place in it. There are many, many more…
Vegetarians are proven to live longer, have higher IQ’s and are generally healthier. They also are more likely to refuse in risk-taking behaviors and take care of themselves more. Plus a lot of the healthier Asian cultures and countries are vegetarians. Whole books have be written and countless studies on the benefits of being a vegetarian.
It’s possible to quit ‘cold turkey’. But it all depends on how strong your conviction and will are.
And using the phrase ‘cold turkey’ here is just…*Pun*
Hoped to have helped!
Well, I’ve been vegetarian off and on for the past (sheesh!) eleven years. I have more complicated motives than many people out there, so this isn’t really a problem for me.
When I initially went vegetarian, I first cut red meat, then I cut poultry and fish.
Since, every time that I’ve hopped off the wagon, I’ve gone cold turkey afterwards. No problemo.
Most people who go vegetarian feel better, lighter, etc. Your poop stinks less. You have more energy (which is great for everything you mentioned).
Well i recently just became a vegetarian. It took a little while to finally stop eating meat. What i did was stop having it every night. Then narrowed it down to once a week and know i don’t eat it at all. But it’s possible to just stop “Cold Turkey”. And it will make you be healthier as long as you get in enough protein that the meat would provide you with! Hope This Helps!!!!!!!!1
i am a vegetarian but i had to stop slowly. like i ate chicken for a little while after i stopped eating red meat. i noticed that after, my face cleared up and that i lost weight and felt more active.
it is possible. When i became an veggie that is how i did it. cold turkey. and it wasnt as hard as i thought it would be. and i ate meat every day for lunch and dinner.
Why would you want to Why will it matter if you are a vegetarian? There are no rewards. There is no “If there is enough we can change the world”. why even Bother?
sure, just stop. But you do need to do your research to be sure you still get ample protein, zinc, and iron from your non-meat sources in foods.
I stopped cold turkey. I saw http://www.meat.org and that was enough for me to make me stop. I never ate meat again.
you are normally healthier and live longer.
yes you are saving lives what could be more rewarding then that =^..^=
Sure, but there are no great rewards. You now must take supplements to keep you alive.
