Definitely – it is a really easy and fairly painless way to up your fitness levels. As well as being more environmentally friendly than taking a lift each time. You will feel better physically and mentally if you increase your fitness. (Not sure if you are intending to do all 20 flights at once, or a lot of shorter journeys). Either would be just as good.

Its a great place to start, cos you are right there and it doesnt matter if its raining. WA Heart foundation have a thing every August where you climb the equivelent of Mount Everest in stairs. if you are new to exercise, it would pay to get a check up first, and dont push yourself to hard. Any sign of distress, slow right down or stop.

  • That is the best place to start!
Climbing stairs is the best exercise, better than jogging!
I don’t know if you’d be able to do that many just yet, but it’s sure worth the try!
Don’t get discouraged if you do less that you expected. Just take an elevator the rest of the way and aim on one flight more in a week.
    Good luck!

Yes, it would make a HUGE difference in your health. In fact, if you’re out of shape, I’d bet you couldn’t climb the 20 flights. best to take the elevator down 12 flights and start with 8 flights. If that’s comfortable, do it again. If it’s easy, try more flights.
You’ll feel the difference after the first day!!!

Absolutely, anytime you become more active improves your health.one of my co-workers walked up and down just 8 flights of steps and lost 8 pounds.good luck, and stay healthy.one more thing, you should see a doctor first than start out slow.

  • Definitely. Every little bit helps. Once your body begins to adjust, you might even consider running up a few flights on your way up. I run up the stairs in my office building every morning now.
