I was 260 and I have been stuck at 206 for the past two months. I am 5′7″ and wear pant size 12 which I think is weird because other girls that wear that size are like 150 or so. I work out 4-5 times a week 60 minutes of cardio and 3 times a week strength training. I eat healthy…stay under 2000 calories a day. I am also very active at work always standing and running around. I wore a pedometer and in a day I take an average of 15000-20000 steps when the requirement is 10000…I lead a very active lifestyle however my weight will not budge anyone have any advice..

  • If you can stop bending your elbows, you will loose weight

Sounds like you are on the right track!
If you have been doing the same type of exercises, it may be time to shake your body up with a change. Try a bootcamp class instead of the bike, for example. Hitting a plateau during weightloss is common but trying new things can help to break through it. Your body starts to get used to a regular routine of exercises after a while and they will not be quite as effective.
Personally, low carb dieting (not insane low carb, just cutting out all sugar and most bread products) has helped me in the past.

    Congratulations, show!
You are doing everything right, and you see the results!
You hit a plateau, which is normal.
Increase the intensity of your cardio (add a level or an incline).
Also, increase your weights by either a pound or 5-10 reps.
    Do this every 6 weeks.

Maybe most of those puonds are muscle? I tried this Jen-Fe Power Patch (not the regular that doesnt work unless you want to lose less then 30 lbs) and it was awesome! No diets and No pills! Plus it help build lean muscle, which was great since excercising consisted of mostly walking for me, lol. The thing also it helps you get energy (by week 2 I lost 5 1/2 lbs and could actually do moderate excercises) and it helps you sleep at night, I have tried SO many things, I was basically a GNC advocate but this patch kicks butt! I don’t know if is available locally but I got it from this website http://www.nexagenusa.com/taylorkr is all natural so it really helps you kick butt! Good luck!

Try counting your calorie intake. If you are healthy try not to eat over 1500 Cal’s. a day. Remember any thing you drink that is not a diet soda, or water also has Cal’s in it. I lost a whole lot of weight that way. In two weeks I went down 2 pants sizes. Some type of exercise, or dancing to Sean Paul’s “Get Busy” several times a day. Good luck.

  • Here are some tips that may help you in your quest to lost some weight. Remember to always visit a health professional to confirm your diet plan before starting out on any regimen and always ensure that you are getting adequate nutrition while dieting.
    Steps
Drink lots of water during the day. Maybe 4-6 bottles (one bottle is usually 2 servings). Water is good for everything – your skin, your body and for giving you a sense of being full for a short period of time.
Find foods that have less calories and lots of nutrition. Vegetables, fruit, grains and lean meats are always good choices. Speak with your nutritionist, general doctor or other health professional for ideas that suit you the best.
Eat the foods you have selected, plan ahead if possible. Do not skip meals (see reasons below). A plan makes sticking to a diet much easier, especially if you have a busy life and tend to “eat on the run” and grab anything at hand.
Decide on what method of eating suits your needs best. Eat “normally” with three usual-sized meal portions if you like consistency and have the ability to sit down at a table three times a day. Or, you could try eating a full breakfast, then eating several small snacks the rest of the day (known as “grazing). Ask a nutritionist or health professional to advise you on which method is best for your needs.
Brush your teeth early so that you won’t be as tempted to eat anything else at night. If you must nibble, have small slices of apple, carrot sticks or similar until your body learns to not crave food later at night.
Exercise. Always include exercise as part of any diet. Exercise is the part that firms and tones you; it is also the part that helps to ensure that your metabolism can cope with the dietary changes.
Think lifestyle eating. Diets come to an end, which is a good thing because we should not spend out life feeling “deprived”. Instead, once you have reached your goal, focus on good eating habits and exercise as part of your lifestyle. Lifestyle eating is about embracing a permanent change in the way you eat and the things you eat and keeping this up. Done properly, it will usually eliminate the need for dieting again.
    Tips
If you feel yourself getting hungry before dinner, try drinking a bottle of water or green tea. This should fill you up and stave off hunger pangs a little longer.
If you start to crave something sweet and sugary, try chewing a piece of gum. Sugar-free is best. You can also try brushing your teeth. The minty flavor of the toothpaste will help curb the craving and get rid of that sweet tooth.
It is generally not advisable to lose more than 2 pounds per week. Or 8 pounds per month.
For many people, it is good to eat a larger breakfast, a decent lunch and a small dinner. This will depend on your lifestyle needs, however. Check with a health professional for more advice.
You can control the portions by measuring your meals for the day.
    Warnings
Don’t be too obsessed over this. People will start to worry about you and your health.
Do not skip meals; you will upset your metabolism and eventually this will make it harder to lose weight. Also, skipping meals encourges your body to go into “storage mode” and you will keep weight in areas such as your stomach.
Don’t avoid eating althogether. If you do this, you will starve your body of its fuel and cause damage to your organs and bodily functions.
If you are trying to lose more than 20% of your body weight, it is best to consult your physician or a specialist about how to do so in a healthy way, and keep the weight off.
Mind what you eat: you wouldn’t run your car on empty, so don’t be afraid to eat. And make it quality fuel, not the poor stuff!

Is it possible that you are not counting the calories correctly?? I eat somewhere in between 1500 to 1800 cal a day and I’m size 0…and I NEVER work out. If you eat under 2000 calories…I would think it is impossible to be 206 lbs…that is almost twice as much as I weigh.

  • i_am_sav says:

you wear a pant size 12 because you have lost fat and gained muscle. therefore making you leaner.

  • bgraphic says:

from what you say it sounds like you are very fit. muscle weighs more than fat does. so if you want to lose more weight then dont work out so much limit yourself to 2 workouts a week. walking that much a day makes up for two days of working out.

  • aceproce says:

I can’t see how that is possible that you do so much cardio and eat less than 2000 calories per day and can maintain such a weight.
Something is wrong there or you have some serious metabolic disorder.
less than 2000 calories is very little food, not even enough for say a 150 lb person to maintain their weight. Check again because that doesn’t make sense. It’s simple mathematics. So, unless you have a frozen metabolism, you’re miscalculating.
