My daily exercise includes around 30-40mins vigorous jogging on the spot. These are the questions I would like answered:
Should a pedometer be used for such an exercise?
What counts as a step? If in a given amount of time my right foot hits the floor 10times how many steps have I done? This is mainly to check the calibration of the pedometer
Also what is the average amount of calories that are burnt in 10 minutes? I am 53kg and 1.73m height. On average the pedometer marks 27cal per 10 minutes which do seem a bit low :s
Thanks to all those who try to help me

  • most have a stride setting… figure out what your average stride is.. 2 feet or whatever. Select the one that is closest to yours. Use a tape measure and walk along, then stop and look at the distance between your feet, or walk in sand and measure the steps. set the meter accordingly

You can count all the figures you want to, but the fact remains that health or a good body don’t stand up to any numbers. Don’t count anything, including your weight. Just get on a program that makes you feel good, look good, and be healthy.
